@dhjohns Thank you for sharing. This is working great and is by far the cleanest and easiest method to use the black theme in comparison to any previous methods.
Hello, Thank you for this utility. Is there a way to create a same file for Office VL Edition ? I never succeeded to activate black theme in VL ISO.
I do not believe you need this tool as Microsoft Office 2016 also contains a dark theme that isn’t enabled by default, and must be manually enabled. To enable it, open an Office application like Word or Excel and head to File > Options. On the General tab, click the “Office Theme” box under “Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office” and select the “Black” office theme. Your theme choice will apply to all Office applications. So, if you set this option in Word and later open Excel, Excel will also be using a dark theme.
This is basically C2R (click to run) https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ffice-2016-download-install-activation.62571/ Screenshot is from using the above
Hello, Sorry, but with VL Edition, you only have White, Colorfull and Dark grey (not black). No matters since I use colorfull theme, but black theme is more smart than dark grey. I just wonder if anyone succeeded to activate it, I never did.
Hi, Uninstalled VL Edition, installed C2R latest Monthly Channel via O2016RTool : it works like a charm, and I confirm that Black theme is proposed with the 3 other ones. C2R installation saved 9 GB of space in my HDD compared to VL ISO and its updates. Thx for the tip !
Hi, I recently installed the same Edition and version of Office 2016 Pro plus in Windows 10 Pro and Home Editions. It seems that when installing Office 2016 in Windows 10 Pro Edition, black theme is enabled and proposed with the 3 other themes, but it's not the case in 10 Home Edition : in this case your script is working perfectly. And I noticed that with Family Edition, some additional infos are missing in "account" section of Office apps (cf. screenshots). Why black theme is enabled in Windows 10 Pro Editions and not in Home Edition?
Hi, when I run the tool and choose black theme I get this error. Then when I open my office it is in black theme, but when I close and reopen, it gets back to dark grey, and I have to run the tool again. Is this the normal behavior?
