    Hi

On a pc that got virus, I now have blank space instead of ads.

    Here what it look :

(remove the space in the http to complete the link)

I did try a lot of things to overcome this (and the virus infection), here is a resume :

    Scans I made :

    Scan :
    Malwarebytes
    Malwarebytes Anti-rootkit
    TSSDKiller
    MCAfee stringer
    Adwcleaner
    NOD32
    HitmanPro
    Spybot - Search and Destroy
    SuperAntiSpyware

    Tests I made :
    A reset of internet explorer
Uninstall - Reinstall IE with control pannel
    Clear cache using IE tool
    Clear cache using CCleaner
Reset network settings (netsh winsock reset - netsh int ip reset all - netsh advfirewall reset - ipconfig /flushdns)
    A reset to the router
Did try safe zone and compatibility mode for website without change
    Fix Ie by tweaking.com

Windows is 8.1 and up to date. Aside from that, everything work fine, video and games. The problem does not occur in other browser but I would like to fix IE. Any idea ? Thanks.

Perhaps these ad sites have been included in your HOSTS file.
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS
It may be marked as readonly, system, hidden or all of these.

Just to be sure I'm understanding correctly.

You somehow got rid of the advertising, now you want it back.

Would definitely be interested in the reverse, once you figure out what happened.
