My Ultimate doesn't have HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\DigitalProductId - uses Retail key.
The Enterprise I have in a VM does.

    Says it all I think.

there's a tool somewhere on the forum, tokens backup and restore tool, you can backup the activation files, then do the hardware changes
then restore the tokens with the backup/restore tool
and i think all might be well again
but im not 100% sure on this, maybe someone more in the know can help with that stuff
but i have used it once myself several months ago and it worked fine

    edit: $-Paymyrent-Token-restore-for-mak-keys-and-retail

the 1st one on that page for mak activated machines
the 2nd one on that page is for retail activated machines

edit: also note i did the same thing a while back, used a key from a forum, it became blacklisted, but still worked for a whle till eventually it died a quick death
