I used to get BSODs in uTorrent, I can't remember exactly what the fix was, but it was to do with 'disk caching' I think I had to disable it

Options > Preferences > Advanced > Disk Cache

Using Bittorent (which is very similar) and no problems here. Maybe its karma if what is in the torrents violates usage rights and EULA's ;).

Windows Defender in win8 is pretty good, why do you need all the A/V bloatware. I've run my computer (because its slow) with no AV and am very careful when installing stuff and have auto play disabled and everything is fine.

Seriously, why don't you try bittorent, you won't even notice the difference. But since that may have the same problem then try something else.

You need to give more details. What version is your driver that you are using? For what version of Windows is the driver normally?
Maybe then it is possible to solve this.

That could be it, but I have seen systems with Windows 8 doing BSOD because of faulty drivers.

im using utorrent and Kaspersky 2013 internet security and windows 8 64 bit and it works just fine, that said I would uninstall Kaspersky and utorrent, clean out the registry check your files to make sure nothing is left behind Kaspersky has a Kaspersky file remover if needed, then reinstall Kaspersky do all its updates then reboot, then reinstall utorrent set it up where to save files and temps what ports to use, it does work you may have had a corrupt file or utorrent was trying to save info to a protected area ;) good luck
