The mobo on my dv9000 melted once because of ridiculous overheating. The computer then behaved somewhat similar to what yours are doing now. You could say a lot about HP, but laptop cooling is not their specialty. Though, do what urie said before taking any drastic measures
What do you mean they are not accepted, More info needed. You should still be able to install them even if windows 7 says not.
Why does he need to upgrade the bios there is no windows 7 bioses available for this model only ones for vista and he maybe using modded bios.
Mine is 72 °C, so yours shouldn't be anything to worry about I believe. And just to clarify, the computer I am currently using is similar to yours, dv9000-series.
Resolved problem I own a DV9790eb. Did last published bios-update from HP, wich "corrects" the overheating problem (puts on the vent...). Drivers: download and install latest NVidia drivers from nvidia.com. PS: there is an updated bios available if you prefer windows 7.
There IS NOT an updated bios for his model for windows 7 only official bois updates for his model are for vista. i,e, SLIC 2.0 not SLIC 2.1
As URIE says, there is NO updated Bios for this model. And i have tried the latest Nvidia driver from Nvidias site but that gave the black screen. So, let's see now how it works. I report back...
