I've been a long time member at boot-land , but haven't checked it lately. Does that script work with a usb flash drive? I guess diskpart has to see the drive as a fixed drive, not a removable one.
i haven't tried it myself either. I guess the script would work with a flash drive, provided it is of sufficient size to accommodate the windows 7 installation. so the minimum would be 8/16 GB drive...
I just tried this script from boot-land and, guess what, it works like a charm. I first installed W7 on an USB hdd and then on a 16 Gb flash memory stick. The memory stick took 3 hours to install, is a bit slow, but works perfectly. I could also activate without any problem. Very nice! Thanks for the tip. chi09es
I'm sure all of those methods work fine, although this isn't a Preloaded Environment, its a full version of Windows 7, any results on how the installation went through the web link I posted?
yeah they are a legal site, so they don't distribute such files... according to them , since only win 7/PE 3.0 supports VHD, they might not support VHD. even otherwise i feel VHD will difficult to defragment or is there a tool for that ?
So that means : Put win7 on a USB-HDD Boot from USB Install WAT update When it passed you know it is also good on your originall OS with the same configuration and when you put the hdd on another PC and not passed then you know that you must chance something what i try to say is that you can use the HDD without to install something on your originall OS to check , because the USB HDD use the same hardware configuration as the PC or Laptop where is is plugged in . Or is that really stupid thinking ????? Thanx for the great work People do here !!!!
