Hello, Can anyone assist me on how to create a MSDOS bootable CD/DVD (I use a LG DVD writer). What I'm trying to do is make a bootable CD/DVD so I can run AFUDOS to update my BIOS for my ASUS P4P800 MoBo. I was unable to find a windows bas BIOS updater for an ASUS MoBo. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to be posting this request, but I am running Windows 7 SP1 32-bit. Thank You.
I used rufus for an semi-older board that that mfgr. required a floppy to install the bios. I put the bios update files on the rufus usb and I opened the bios update xxx.exe within the bios from the usb
It was a while back ago, and I think this board I had could not boot from a USB, but the bios recognized the USB as a dos floppy drive, and I could access the USB drive that way to flash
I tried just booting with rufus using a Windows 7 ISO file, and my P4P800 didn't boot from a USB stick, it always booted from the HDD. What's the trick to get my ASUS P4P800E Deluxe to boot from a USB stick? One I get that trick working, then I shouldn't have any issues booting to DOS 6.22 and upgrading my BIOS. I tried boot from a DOS 6.22 CD and I had no issues. I put the AFUDOS.exe (renamed ADOS.exe) and the BIOS update file on it (I named it ASUS21.000), then when I booted to DOS 6.22, those two files were not on it. Then I went back to Win7, and those two files were on the CD. Does anyone know what is going on? I really appreciate all the feed back that you all have suggested, and I'll get back to you with the results. Thank You.
