Is it possible to make a bootable usb that has the install for x86/x64 of windows 7? Any guides? Thanks!
If you have an ISO. You can use the Universal USB Installer to unpack the ISO onto a USB stick. If you are only putting 32bit or 64bit,then a 4GB USB stick is enough and Microsoft's USB/DVD Tool can be used to unpack the ISO onto the USB stick. For combo 32/64 an 8GB USB stick will be required.
You have to create an all editions windows 7 x86/x64 DVD/ISO (many tutorials around),then use Microsoft USB tool.
thank for your help guys! I was able to make a x64 all in one iso, and put it on usb, but how would i be able to get the x86 version on it as well?
I take it you only want the install files on the USB, not being able to run Windows 7 from the USB. To run windows 7 from a external drive you'll need a eSATA connection w/ similar drive, or at least that's how I did it in my lab.
Yes, I just want to be able to install win7 64 or x86 from the usb, I want the option to have both install files on the usb drive.
