I did that on a Windows 7 pc, I renamed the exe file and it stopped showing.

Can you do a system restore?

    hi,

    just go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run

    and delete Browser Choice entry.

    good luck.

    i get this error:

the recovery point specified is missing or damaged. Try using a different restore point. (0x81000201)

i've just 3 recovery points and it does this with all...it seems like that update has specially damaged them to prevent any attempt to remove it....

@bootstap: i searched the key but after "Run" there's nothing, no subfolders.

I think something else has happened to your restore points and that it isn't the browser choice update causing the error.
I installed the update yesterday to see what changes it makes in the registry and afterwards restored using system restore.
I didn't save the info of the registry changes unfortunately.

for the first days it appeared on every boot, but now not. from when i installed it doesn't changed anything. However i don't want it, it's just a waste of space and resources

Can someone take screen shot of what this browser update does as I might not want it.
Is it something added to the metro screen?
