So i ran VOATK 2.5. I guess its not made for windows 7? Cause i get BSOD now.
    The error it says is: STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009A9928, 0xFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

Can anyone help me? It seems like my other alternative is having to reinstall the entire os.
Im going to run chkdsk while i sleep. if anyone knows a sure way to repair the damage please help me out.

Voatk tools are'nt really compatible with Win7, some functions work but overall its a no go. As for your BSOD, try booting into the windows recovery environment and doing a system restore. Failing that its a clean install im afraid.

I thought maybe due to similarity that the tools might work. apparently not. let my mistake be a warning to everyone else.

i tried a bunch of recovery options: chkdsk, sfc, bootsect and apparently i don't have any restore points (go figure) i thought one was made recently before an update of a program.
none of them helped. guess im going to do a clean install. windows was running a bit sluggish. time to clean house :(
