Seems to be an Driver problem. If you recently updated a driver, try to roll back or use the original HD Driver.

Try to boot the computer in Safe Mode first or use the Restore function from Setup DVD to restore to an earlier Restore point. One of that should work.

After terrible experiences with HP/Compaq Computers for both Hardware (cheap quality and/or incompatibility) and Service, no more any HP/Compaq!

I second that. The first meaningful post in this thread. If you realy want to know how cheap there products are only trace the FCC-Number on the mainboard. I once traced a mainboard of a hp-pc to a sister-company of Elitegroup. I consider Elitegroup as a cheap and low quality manufacture and hp even uses a cheaper versions of these low quality products.

Everytime I wanted to fix a HP-Thing there always poped up more errors to fix.

For yor problem of the BSODs simply use an original Install-Medium of Windows (not the OEM-Recovery or what not) to completly partition, format and reinstall Windows. Blantly remove any recovery-partitions. They only take up space and aren't good for anything except bloating the same faulty Windows-Bloat-Install on your PC.

That's an easy one. Install Linux on it and sell it. Problem solved.

I use Acer Laptops for the past 3 years. Acer has an excellent Service in Thailand, which is very important. Dell you could forget in Thailand, Service sucks! Samsung is good as well but the service is quite slow and, huge difference in prices in different Samsung Service Station! That's something what shouldn't be happen!

That could be an Hardware problem, in this case: your HDD! Have you check your BIOS still "See's" the HDD? If yes, which seems to be according to the title of your post, download either DRevitalize or HDD Regenerator and check the HDD with them. HDDRegenerator is also part of HirenBootCD!

I had this same issue but without BSOD. My PC would reboot after wake which started after I installed Windows 8. I solved the issue by going to Power Settings/ Advanced Settings / Sleep /and disable Allow Wake Timers. Hope this helps :)
