Since that build is 2 years out from release date, and as it now 7 months old, if those are the only issues you have with such an early build you're lucky!
Hybrid boot is not really working for me. The first time I shut down, I get logged off, the screen turns black for a few seconds, and my computer turns off, which is expected. The next startup is really fast, but then the hybrid boot does not work anymore. The same events occur when I click shutdown except instead of my computer turning off, I get re logged back in after around a minute of the black screen. Is anyone else having this issue or is it just me?
Last time when I put it on hibernate, it started up by itself after 2 hours. It also freeze up few times when I use IE9 to watch live TV news. I had none of these problems with Win7... Other than that, Win8 7850 is a lot faster, better video and sound, use less memory than Win7, I very like it... Just hope some experts out there can find solutions to fix these bugs.
You need to enable (turn Windows features on) Microsoft.net frame work 2.0 and 3.5.1 to use Firefox... I had the same problem with Firefox before.
I have this problem too. When i install on my PC, DVD drive is not detected. But i tried to install on my notebook, it's detected and work fine. I think it's a bug of Windows 8. For firefox problem I recommended you to use nightly build 6 instead of firefox 4 It's work fine without any problem.
It can be disabled right after installation but before a shutdown (use reboot instead). Specs: ASUS P5WD2-E Premium Mobo Pentium D CPU Nvidia GeForce 9700 GT Other than the hibernate issue, the OS runs very smoothly. Lucky to get a leaked version right before they updated the kernel (I use Deep Freeze).
My specs are: Semp Toshiba IS 1454 (notebook) Core 2 Duo T5750 CPU Integrated Intel 965 Mobile Graphics Windows 8 7850 doesn't have any problems on this machine, it runs VERY smoothly and faster than Windows 7 SP1 x64.
Oh, and is anyone having problems opening up the IE gallery in IE9 RTM to change the search engine and add blocking lists? It just crashes the browser every time. Also, SourceForge crashes the browser too =(
I have all these problems :-( And both IE9 (Original and RTM) are veeeeeeeerrrrrryyyyyyyyyy slow for me (E8500/8GB/GTX260) I had to install Chrome.
The more I use IE9, the worse I think it is. In some ways, it is more glitchy and less standards compliant than Firefox 2! The dialog box on the left is a classic bug. Since the dialog box is not focused (as it should be), the user cannot click OK and continue. The program is not crashed, but the user will have to force it to crash. See the other attachment below for Dreamweaver CS5 having the same problem. P.S. Surfing using Firefox 2 EVERYDAY isn't so bad! Only some (newer) sites have some broken layouts, like Slashdot. Even being able to run Gmail in Firefox 2 using the standard view without ActiveX whereas IE9 is stuck with HTML view without ActiveX makes it worth it.
