Activated and with SLC crack, it seems to "phone home" anytime I try to reset, suspend or shut down the system, because the Wi-Fi activity LED turns on and never turns off, forcing me to turn off the notebook using brute force (holding the power button). Turning off the Wi-Fi adapter before doing anything related to this seems to fix, but of course it's not very nice to have to do this every single time.
Nope won't work for me either, going back to clean install tomorrow and staying Vanilla until a decent workaround comes around. With all this patching there is no way to beta test, nobody knows what is causing what problems anymore.
Ok, relax .. let's stay realistic here. I installed from USB2 to 7200RPM HDD, even if I had installed to my SSD it wouldn't have gone under 5 mins.
I may have been a little unrealistic with that... It's probably somewhere closer to 7 minutes max, but I haven't timed it so I'm not too sure, And I don't have an SSD so I suppose it's pretty quick all things considered.
Fair enough LOL I Wish I could try it on my SSD, but every time I put it in my laptop it fries and I have to RMA it. Oh well my wife sure likes it in her laptop. Heh, that's $200 well spent LOL
Dial-up??? Afraid not, haven't used Dial-up since Win 3.11 and AOL was da bomb.. maybe win 8 will be the end for dial-up on windows. <shrug>
