Gabe Aul's session (not currently listed) should be interesting. Like all sessions, it'll be available for viewing within a day or two of when it happens.
So far I have 3 things Keynote Presentation Date: Mar 30, 2016 8:30AM–11:00AM Microsoft Edge: What's Next for Microsoft's New Browser and Web Platform Date: Mar 30, 2016 2:00PM–3:00PM Gabriel Aul Live Date: Mar 31, 2016 1:20PM–2:00PM
Looking over the schedule, it all boils down to three major topics: Azure, Apps, and Games, which means it's less and less sessions I'm actually interested in (the future of Visual Studio, C# and .NET languages are very welcome ones - will be great to get news from Mads, Dustin, and Anders (although he's more into TypeScript now)). You can see where the train goes, that Microsoft has really become a cloud and app service company now, Windows somehow is at a dead-end, the tradidional desktop is already dead for them (there's one alibi session). You can just see how they fight against becoming less and less important in this always connected world where their strong key technologies don't play the role they once played anymore, with other players ruling the game. They're great at the cloud, no doubt, but only because of the fact people are lulled in that they need it so much for all of their stuff. And Office... well, it's hard to find any business-ready alternatives. PS: From my POV, it could become the lamest BUILD ever, but I'm open for surprises. And, you know, "freaking out" doesn't mean it's gonna be something good.
well I personaly think that M$ lost your focus about desktop O.S. remaining for a while only Enterprise LTSB versions; sometimes seriously I think about FreeBSD & Linux again as alternative even with all problems and controverse over "distros", then only waiting for Redstone
I am not interested in the mobile and cloud sessions either but I'll probably watch some of the sessions on the UWP platform. And of course everything related to Windows 10, C#, .NET and HoloLens. In particular, looking forward to anything new coming to W10 with Redstone (command-line improvements!). That one "freak-out" feature everybody was talking about appears to be related to Android app emulation which I couldn't care less about. :/
William: The same procedure as last year, Paul? Paul: The same procedure as every year, William! I'm in!
I would like that too but I think the stable versions will start rolling out via WU for Insiders in late May/Early June.
I hope the DX12 API won't only be restricted to win10Store sandboxing a.k.a the WDDM2.0 utmost draconian mashup of M$ and the premature UWP should die, else Vulkan And a real Aero blur please...
