I recently downloaded build 7600.16834 x64 from a mininova link in this forum and I have been reading about malware/botnets/spyware and I wanted to know how I can check that my version is ok.

Compare checksums or extract ISO/all files and run an AV check on it.

Sorry to sound stupid but do I need to put the DVD into the drive and then run this 'Exact File' Program?

No, you need to run it on the ISO image.

Then check the disc with a good AV like ESET NOD32 or Kaspersky. AVG is also recommendable.
