Ive currently got the upgrades through my old pc 10 years+ to Win10Pro but going to be building a new Pc soon, what's the best way to get it transferred to my new build?
Create a backup, using any backup tool that has the option to recover/deploy it on other hardware. With 10 that option should not even be needed, it will be able to handle the transfer but personally i would do a fresh new install on the new hardware.
10+ years old seems quite a long time lol......I would highly recommend a clean install so your residual update files, software files don't stick around in your new PC.
Let me 3rd that sentiment, just do a clean install. Use uupdump to get the install image, then google "massgravel github" to get the tool needed for hardware activation.
What you wrote isnt clear . What operating system ? From what to win 10 pro ? What do you want to do ? Transfer your files , programs , registration and settings from one computer to another ? My opinion ---- > Best is a clean install ....... and just copy and transfer your files ......and use one of the activation solutions that you can find on this site .. With anyother way you cant garantee that what you get is what you want . Does it transfer everything ? As it is ? Same settings ? On a different setup .
Sorry i wrote this in a rush yesterday, i should of been more clear lol What i meant was i have a PC that i built around 10years ago, that had WinXp then went to Win7(which was downloaded and KMS used to activate) then the free upgrade bumped me up to Win10Pro Im now building a new PC and i wanted to know if the free upgrade could be installed back on the new build, not my files or anything i want a fresh install that keeps Win10Pro only. or do i just download a fresh copy and install, i kinda liked the upgrade as it didn't deal with emulators or KMS activators etc and just seemed a legit copy. Hope that clears things up to my options, thanks.
And if you want a hwid, just google for massgravel on github to get MAS1.4. Or just use KMS_VL_ALL for kms activation.
What he said (just above), you'll very seldom go wrong listening to Enthusiast. For my own computers, I am quite happy with KMS_VL_ALL as I have to use it for Office anyway, so why not? For my many friends and relatives who depend on me for computer support, I prefer the hwid route (google "massgravel github"). With KMS_VL_ALL, you have to set an exception in your anti-virus program. If you're using Windows Defender, then KMS_VL_ALL will actually do that for you. But when I setup a new computer for my niece, and she goes off and buys and installs Kaspersky, then .... Yeah, you guessed it, 181 days later, her Windows and Office are no longer activated.
Ok great will look back onto both those methods. What/where is the best way to download a fresh install of Win10 then use one of the above methods?
Download Windows Install Media Techbench/MSFT ISO/UUP/SVF/ESD + Office VL All possible download options
