    is it realtek ?
    sorry, but I cant buy a realtek as it disappointed me recently...

    @MD-all :
    suggest TP-Link, D-Link, Killer, or any others.... 100 or 1000 MBps whichever you think is best

    Get an Intel NIC. They perform well and are reliable too. Not to mention they are cheap if you buy used.

    Agreed. Intel are top of the line. I especially like my PT and VT quad cards in my servers.

    But Guys,I believe Intel NICs are not available in my local markets
    There are only D-link, zebronics, digisol, enter, iball, and other chinese makes.. :(

    So please suggest an okay NIC, I know Intel makes the best but I don't really need the best right now, I just need the 1 who gets the basic job done.

    my realtek rtl8111c died in mobo.. i bought rtl8111D from china pci-e and works fine for over a yr. (for mac os x compatibility) and hasnt disappointed me.. as it sounds like you had a power surge and some component was damaged in it.

    however you could have specific issue with router and rtl chips.. but i doubt it as it sounds more like a defect in built in.

    did you try linux to test ping ?

    & I feel kinda dizzy now...
