I will finally buy an SSD. I have an old PC from 2010. Will I have a problem if I format the SSD every 3 months. If yes should I stay with my hard drive. Thank You for any replies.
Is it some sort of ritual or why do you do such a thing? In fact, you can format as much as you want, although there is absolutely no need for it. This action in itself does not break anything. The only thing you should not do is delete the files using the overwrite method as suggested for the HDD.
I have a 90 day trial of Norton 360. The only way to reinstall Norton is to format the drive. I format the drive and install Norton 360. All my programs and data is on another drive. I have been using Norton for more than 15 years and I never had problems with it.
Formatting every 3 months for whatever reason isn't brilliant. Formatting to use a useless AV, especially a crappy one like Norton, is just insane BTW, if that'e what you want, at least learn to use native vhds. So you can start a fresh OS copying a single file, w/o touching the data on disk. a 5 minutes operation VS hours needed to do things your way.
Speaking of Norton Antivirus or Norton Utilities is F***KING S**KS!! I have never had problems my system with 4 SSD and 2 HDD my Desktop PC for long times.. Why you have re-formatted every months? IT makes no sense... ATGPUD2003
