So I just installed 19041.84.200218.11743 and it required a PIN. But there is no option in User Accounts to disable this new requirement. Can someone please assist? Thanks!
You are right. If you perform a clean installation, you will be required to activate the PIN and you will not be able to opt out, but if you wish, you can remove it immediately after logging in for the first time. (Although I don't know why anyone should want to do this. Regardless of whether you've activated your PIN or not, you can always use a password to sign in.) To remove a PIN, go to Settings => Accounts => Sign-in options and click Windows Hello PIN If you are the only user and want to use automatic login, you need to turn off the following a claim on the same page Require Windows hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts. (turn it off) If this is turned on, you will be not able to use auto-login. I hope You know how to turn on automatic log-in, if You want use it.
I've done more than a dozen clean installs of Windows 10 Pro Version 2004 Build 19041 64-bit since it was released on May 27th. There is no requirement to create and use a PIN number or a password.
Then it's nice when it's not. But when a person says it is, it probably is, and I haven't installed this version very many times - only about 10 times and always it has been there. Strange why in some cases it is and in some cases it is not. But I don't see any problem with that. Absolutely no matter at all, whether it is there or not.
IF it's required it will be only when using an online account, and only on home + homesinglelanguage there is no option to skip an online account, but that can easily be circumvented: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...20h1-2-vb_release.80763/page-234#post-1620467
I must have missed the option to skip it - so it's there now - how do I remove it so there's no logon on startup? Thanks
yes, did that, BUT now I'm stuck with the Sign In with Password When I go through the identity verification process, I can't leave the New Password field blank. It used to be SO easy to deselect the Require box. So where did they move this to, or what is the new process so there is NO sign in of any type? Thanks!
From within windows won't be a clean install but an inplace upgrade, resetpc or fresh start (removed in 2004) can be considered a clean install from within windows though. I only do installs from boot with my preferred install medium.
If you disconnect or disable any internet connection to your computer when your installing windows you will be able to skip and bypass the setup pin option in the windows 10 install. You will also be able to bypass entering a password. when enter password comes up on screen just push enter and you will be able to continue the install.
