Hello, I'm using windows 7/64 and I'm experiencing a strange memory leak when gaming. Before I launch a game I have 1,5gb ram taken out of 7gb. The game (call of duty ghosts) uses 2gb, and the total memory taken is...5gb. After 1-2 hours of gaming the used memory goes to 5.5-6gb. This issue occurs with battlefield 4 and latest batman. What could be causing it? I tried the same games under windows 8.1 - smooth&no issues. Please see the attached screenshots. My rig: Phenom II 940 7gb ram Nvidia 560Ti Crucial m4 SSD Dynamic pagefile 128-4096 MB Thank you in advance!
Call of Duty: Ghosts minimum requirements OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / 64-Bit Windows 8 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHz or higher RAM: 6 GB RAM HDD: 40 GB Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 / ATI Radeon ™ HD 5870 or higher Sound: DirectX compatible DirectX: 11 Internet connection for Steam and connectivity in multiplayer The game is really "heavy". Will demand more of your machine.
In my opinion the game itself is not the problem. On the same PC, under windows 8.1, when the game is running the used RAM is 2,8 gb (1gb system idle and 1,8gb the game). I'm quite sure this is a memory leak problem. Occurs with battlefield, batman, maybe with many other games. Nvidia drivers are up 2 date, no matter this has nothing to do with the problem.
READ ^^^ The game requires 6GB MINIMUM of system RAM, BECAUSE IT USES A LOT OF RAM It's not a bug or a memory leak, IT USES THAT MUCH RAM TO RUN
Maybe the explanation is you're not running enough RAM. The specs say you need 6GB, you have <6GB and are having problems. Too little RAM is the cause a priori.
