I want to buy the Upgrade offer but i dont want to reinstall windows 8 again. So my question is is it possible to just change the GLVK to the Upgrade Key via slmgr.vbs -ipk YOUR-UPGRADE-KEY-HERE ?

You can't install a upgrade key on the current version, upgrade keys is only for 'upgrade', even if it's WMC or no.

This registry mod can help you reinstalling your key: http://forums.mydigitallife.net/thr...om-Upgrade-Key?p=654930&viewfull=1#post654930

But an activation backup is really the best way to preserve your current activation, check this thread: http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/27341

I simply input my new w8 key on my w8 pro, and now activated with no end date, so I would say yes. As a side note, lost my ability to use the classic start menu - working on that...

My Windows8 Pro will not take the Upgrade Key.
"this specified product key can only be used for upgrading, not for clean installations."

It may be dependent on the media used for the install.
I have not tried to activate with the media associated with the purchase.
