    I know this has been requested before and I haven't seen a positive response. I hope it can be done. I have one I'd like to mod.

    Thanks for the explanation. It probably wouldn't run any better on Windows 7 than it does on XP anyway. It might just barely meet the system requirements.

    i updated my video card to FX5200, add 2gb ddr, and 500gb hd. the graphic still a little slow. when opening folder i see a dash line. when closing folder, it show a slow movement, like those faded movement. maybe cuz only 256mb pci card and no win7 driver for the graphic card.

    also, in device mgr, it show a Video Controller unknown.

    Need recommendation: should i install Dimension 3000 with: Win XP, Vista, or Win 7 . since win 7 is a little slow on graphic

    if the driver isnt installed then you need to find one for that card for your os then you most likely wont see the lines.

    I found an slp 2.1 Dell Dimension 3000 BIOS file elsewhere on the internet. Flashed it, and it runs fine.

    It runs Windows 7 just fine when you upgrade the CPU to a Pentium 4 HT 3.2 GHz and max out the RAM. You also want something like an Nvidia 6200 PCI card and you get better performance when you enable hyper-threading in the BIOS.

    Can't take credit for this and I don't remember where I found it, but here it is:
    sendspace --> f52i47

    Looks like I need to post a bit more.
