Can genuine Win8 key be used to activate 32 and/or 64 bit?

    As subject really. Can a genuine Windows8 key activate both 32 and 64 bit, depending on what you choose?

    Yeah, I'm pretty savvy with PC/OS stuff but conflicting stories on interweb confused me enough to ask my question.

    .....last question.
    I have now purchased Windows 8 and have a Product Key only. Is that enough to get Windows 8.1 working? I thought I needed a Product Key and an Activation Key??

    It works. You don't need the slmgr commands. Just go to windows' change product key, change it there and it'll auto activate at once (when online).
