Can I add another display language to a Single-Language-Win 8 Version?

Unfortunately a friend bought in russia a notebook with a pre-installed (legal) Single-Language version of Win 8.

Since I do not speak russian I am not able to help him with configuration problems.

Is there a way to "extend" helpwise the existing Win8 version with another GUI language (e.g. english)
WITHOUT re-installing Win 8 (=replacing SLV by a full Pro version)?

I could imagine that a small registry hack and adding some files would do the trick.

Giving up the AUTOMATIC updates feature would be acceptable.

Again: I am talking about a SINGLE LANGUAGE version of Win 8. So please don't tell me something about the "normal" way of switching the display language. This does NOT work.
