can i install x64 on a comp that has x32

    so here is my problem
    i have a comp with running XP x32(x86) same thing (right )bit now but i would like to know if it would support x64
    how i would know if my computer can support x64 bit???

    if your processor supports 64 bit instructions. Which processor are you using???

    im not infront if my computer at the moment but i know that it has a Pentium 4 ht running 2.8

    should i consider the motherboard too if i want to run x64 bit???

    Nope..just cpu. I think you are out of luck. I think P4 Northwood or prescott do not support X64 as a rule. If it is a newer P4 then likely it does. I would say that you are most likely out of luck.

    how i would know which processor i have like the exact one???

    use everest or cpuz...you should know this stuff (at a minimum) before you start monkeying with stuff..really.
