**Solved** Can I "ping" across diferent virtuals?

    Hello,

I wonder if I could ping across different Virtual machines guest. For example I have ubuntu under Virtual Box and I want to ping XP guest under Vmware. Will it work? and is it about network configurations across virtuals? many thanks!

    Regards,

One thing using bridge option that it got my virtual machine part of my work network which I do not want that maybe a different subnet would be fine. So is there a solution not to take my work subnet?

Dont see any real reason why NAT wouldnt work as well (except maybe some firewall settings on host)... since your "virtual card" on host should work like a gateway with its own subnet for your virtual network (clients).

    Solved!

Alright It worked!! Thanks all! I did assigned a static Ip with the subnet 10.10.10.x on virtual card vmware vmnet 1 (host only). and I chose from the Vbox network option: Bridged Adapter which I chose the Vmnet (vmware vcard).. Also same subnet Ip. however no gateways where needed! Result: Ubuntu can ping XPand XP could ping ubuntu across different virtual machines . Many thanks!
