can i reinstall windows with any install disc on a HP Pavilion dv6-2005tx ?

    Im running the preinstall of home prem on my dv6 at the moment i want to clean install a copy of home prem x64 can i use any install disk with the oem key that comes with it? or am i better off flashing it with a sli bios and install that way? thanks

    Do you allready have windows 7 premium? If you do your bios should allready be 2.1 and you should be able to install off a 64 bit DVD, install the OEM key and cert. Look at the Repository sticky, everything you need is there.

    Yeh, i`ve done that. Install without key. Then innsett cert and key using cmd. Youre goo to go.

    Exactly what I was thinking...let's not go down that path ;)
    You will still need the XRM-MS certificate file to use the SLP key.
