Not on the same Windows install, but you can make IE9 emulate IE7 & IE8 by going to the Settings menu (Cog) and then to Developer Tools then switch the Browser/Documents Modes to IE8 etc.

Don't know if that'll be any help but thought I'd mention it ;)

I wonder if you capture IE 8 with Thin App  interesting idea I might test it later.

i remember when ie8 was about to come out, there was a leacked version which was standalone
i guess there should b a way to got 1 installed (ie 9) and run the other without beeing installed, just unpacked (ie8)

    Did you make IE8 portable?

Do you think IE9 could be made portable too?

:DAre you a mind reader, I was trying just now to do IE 9 for XP, but some drawbacks. I don't have Windows 7 x86 so I did it with the x64 installer, hoping the IE x86 in it would work on XP, and it worked ok just not on XP, working fine on Windows 7. :p

IE 9 portable started out well initially, but has gone downhill since. It runs like a fat man in a tar pit and crashes more often than Windows ME after about the third time you open it.

I expect other sites will soon come up with other Portable versions of IE9, if you're into testing.
