Hi guys I just finnished building my Windows 7 unattended install disc and answer file with OEM preinstallation kit (oem version of WAIK), but I used the ultimate Retail disc with the lenovo OEM key. Now when I boot off the dvd I get: "The unattend answer file contains an invalid product key. Either remove the invalid key or provide a valid product key in the unattend answer file to proceed with Windows installation." I guess this has to do with the fact that the disc is the Retail disk and the key is an OEM key. Is there a way to change the retail disc into an OEM one? I know for windows xp I could alter pid.txt, but here there is none. Ei.cfg maybe? Greets
I'm betting it has nothing to do with Retail vs OEM disc. The only difference between a Retail and OEM disc is ei.cfg and it doesn't need to be present in either version. More likely is you made a typo somewhere.
You you try to install Windows 7 Ultimate, or an other Edition? Or do you maybe have an Windows 7 E or N Edition?
What does your unattend file look like. Just the part for the key. Can you post it in Code: tags? I ask because, you want to enter the key at OOBE not setup, as far as i know? Because of cert? Also, I don't use an ei.cfg and still works fine... Not sure if it will affect autounattend file tho.
