i'm running an intel celeron running @ 3.20Ghz (which runs higher than the most common pentium 4's btw) with 1024mb of RAM (really 960mb, from the 64mb ati radeon x200 uses) and it lags with a good Anti Virus (Avast), of course i am running ultimate. using 1gb on ready boost has helped quite a bit, but moving and deleting files is where the lag is noticeable. everything else runs great. copying, pasting, deleting stuff sucks. i think a lot has to do with Avast as this is my first experience with it.

i literally boot to my XP if i am going to be moving/cleaning a ton of files.

i don't think you will be too happy considering XP generally flies with 1gb RAM regardless of processor power...

    I Have Celeron Northwood 2.40Ghz - 128Kb Cache ..

If I Replace it with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E7500 With 2.9Ghz - 3MB Cache .. and double the ram to be 2 GB .. how much difference will i notice ?!

i'd think the RAM alone would suffice honestly, but if you've got the funds and the desire upgrading the processor isn't a bad idea.

acrsn probably knows better than i really, but i'd say you'd be top notch with those specs, seeing as 7 does seem to handle less than 2gb RAM better than vista, so 2gb and higher ought to be running pretty good
