I've been an Insider of Windows 10 Dev channel. However I've been away for the latest six months and now I get this message at every OS login. Cannot Windows update, cannot upgrade, cannot even choose a clean install. Apart from a 'hard' reset is there any trick / tool left that can save my bottom from doing that? Windows is still activated and Insider program looks fine.
You did not say what Build you are on ? All Builds in Dev_Channel expire. You need to install the latest Build (20226) to get new Expiration Date.
The time bomb planted into Insider builds cannot be defused, unless you can rebuild and re-sign the kernel. Once the build is expired, it will shut down on its own, and won't boot up anymore, eventually.
OK thanks so it's game over then... Now what could be preventing my computer from installing a new Insider ISO? I ask because that's the next weird thing happening... it just ignores the USB stick and goes on with normal Windows loading. The same doesn't happen with whatever other OS installation. Anything to do with UEFI crap maybe? Do I have to install a normal image first or?
@SAM-R I couldn't end installation succesfully. The error is the same I got with previous Insider ISO. Translation: 'The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation'
Looks good (Italian Pro). The downloaded pack will, when started, download the required files and then start conversion to ISO.
At the end of the day it came out we have to disconnect EVERY other SATA device if we want to install Windows on a NVMe M.2 hard drive. Quite stupid and no sense imho considering that other operating system don't give a f about that...
