Could I be mistaken about it being the Enterprise version? It's the Pro edition, but it has a volume license. (I use KMSPico to activate it for 180 days at a time.) If I'm not mistaken, are you saying there's a way to change / downgrade it to non-Enterprise Pro? If so, how? Thanks.
Pro can be either VL or NON-VL, Enterprise is its own edition and is VL always. To change Pro to PROVL just change key, to change PROVL to PRO just change key.
Thank you for clearing that up. That means that I can use Microsoft's Media Creation Tool to download Win10 as an iso file, and in fact, I'm doing so at this very moment. This issue is solved and I'd like to express my appreciation to the three of you for taking the time to reply and help.
and likely bios has the 8.1key so win 10 likely wil grab it.. or use the readwrite repport method to get key from bios.. for fresh win 10 install before jul 29
That's interesting. You seem to be saying that Microsoft's offer of a free upgrade to Win10 requires installing it by the cutoff date of July 29th. I thought it would only be available for download until then, but once downloaded, it could be installed anytime, even after July 29th. Did I understand you correctly, and if I did, are you sure?
When the oemm shows "valid oem os: Win 8.x/10 only" it would mean you can install 10 also after the "free upgrade to get a HWID" periode, isn't it?
so if the HWID is already store in ms u can reinstall 10 fine.. auto activates past jul 29. just the free upgrade to store that hwid at ms server from 7,8 keys to 10 ends jul 29... the 7 and 8 keys wont work to free upgrade to 10 after. unless they extend it. this is why i bought my i7 mobo cpu recently.
My Asus TA100T... (2 years old) shows an oemm key for both 8.x and 10, just like with Vista and 7 with slic on some brand systems was. I figure the oemm key is not the same as a HWID. But recently i saw a hp laptop with an 8.x/10 only oemm key being upgraded to 10 and it got a HWID, didn't do a clean install (sadly because it would have given some clearance for me).
it depends on date of pc. some were 7 and 8 models and some were w8 only 7 to 8 slic type changes the sticker for key for w7 was on pc, then they didnt show it on pc for w8.. its in bios
I'm not talking about stickers but oem bioskeys (the oemm shows valid os: 8.x/10). I didn't mention laptops for 7 and 8 but for Vista and 7, there was a overlap and in that time Vista preinstalled systems came with both slic for Vista and for 7 (and you got a voucher for 7).
