    what about you talking ?
    windows 16bit apps on xp 32bit ?
    windows 16bit apps on xp 64bit ? <- sounds idiotic
    or what

    if a 32bit windows app dont run, then the 32bit app is dynamic compiled
    and need usual just the c++ redist files inside the prog folder (older version than you have inside system32)

    obviously you are dont know hat wine is :confused:
    in simple way: wine is just a linux service that create virtual windows apis (dll-funktions) and rout it to linux apis

    and now you want to port wine to windows
    == a service that create
    - virtual windows apis
    - route it to linux apis
    - and then rout it back to windows apis

    this sounds realy idiotic (sorry) :eek:

    I guess he wants to run software that's too new for the native XP kernel (made for Vista,7, 8.x, 10) under XP, using Wine as a shim/compatibility layer. Basically like the KernelEx project did, for older OS.

    Yes
    Microsoft stopping supporting win7 soon
    Many programs componies gonna start leave win 7 for newer oses

    With this open source it could make older windows works Alone from ms without a problem

    I think it would be a lot easier to make them work on Windows 7, instead. Win7 architecture is a lot more similar to the later OS. XP is fundamentally different.
