My computer came with Vista and I installed Windows 7 Pro manually so no valid key in BIOS. If I upgrade to Windows 10 Pro 10240, can I clean install afterwards or will it not activate? Thank you for helping Hans Moleman
Did you install your Win 7 with a legit key? If you did, just upgrade and then do a clean install. Skip product key prompts during your clean install and it will be auto activated.
Back it up the system and give it a try. People are reporting success of upgrade even with DAZ loader so you never know unless you try it.
My windows 7 pro was legit, and I have upgraded to Windows 10 Pro 10240 and it's activate. I want to clean install Windows 10 Pro 10240 now, but worry it's not activate because I have no key in BIOS and I don't know if old Windows 7 Pro key will work when I clean install Windows 10. Thank you for helping Hans Moleman
Just clean install your Windows 10 while connected to the internet and it will self activate to the proper edition, that's it. No keys needed during install.
if your win 7 was legit and you after you upgraded win 10 appears activated then you can clean install jus skip the key entering part
Remember to connect to internet first. If no internet connection was made after your upgrade MS could not receive your activation status. Remember to keep connected
