    Hi,

Im trying to activate Microsoft Word (and then Office as well) on my laptop. It is Microsoft Office 2013. Im trying to use Office Toolkit 2.5.3 to activate it.

When I Go to Product Keys > (Set to Microsoft Office 2013 > Word) then click create, it gives me a product key though under 'EditionType' it is 'WordVolume'. Word then gives me an error when I try to activate saying 'This product-key is for the volume licensed version of Word 2013 which isnt currently installed.....'.

Ive read that I may need to change something in the 'Customize Setup' tab of Office Toolkit 2.5.3 before I can get a valid key but not sure on how to do it.

    Any assistance/suggestions?

    Thanks.

What version is it exactly you installed? Is it this crappy Click-To-Run O365 install?

Im not sure, it was pre-installed on the laptop when it was given to me.

In 'About Microsoft Word' I get the following:
    Microsoft Word 2013 (15.0.4727.1003) 32-bit
    Part of Microsoft Office 365
    Product ID: 00200-70000-00000-AA605

    Does that help at all?

It is saying if I don't activate by July 24th, most or all features will be disabled.

The laptop is running Windows 8.

Yep, that version is hardly supported, unfortunately.

Just remembered that xinso messed with converting those O365 installs to Volume versions.

Since you can't PM before you have 5 posts iirc, i'll ask him :D.

For CTR 15, install 3 KMS licences and KMS key (same as Office 15). Then it can be activated with KMS. That is all.

    [Note]
I do not use KMS tools, so no comment.

Thanks for all the help so far!

I have downloaded the Word.rar and am ready to unpack in to the Word folder, though I cannot find the Word folder. I cant find a folder called Word, nor a folder with XRM-MS files and a notepad document.

    I have C:>Program Files>Microsoft Office 15>
'There are 5 folders and a bunch of files in this folder'
    ClientX64
    Data
    packagemanifests
    packagesunrisepolicies
    root
    'Then a bunch of files'

    I also have c:>Program Files (x86)>Microsoft Office>Office15>
    '4 files in this folder' ospp.htm, ospp.vbs, ospprearm.exe, slerror.xml

Where do I unpack Word.rar too?
Also, Id like to activate Office completely if possible (I need Word, Excel and Powerpoint mainly) but am ok if I can get Word going first.

Again, thanks for all the help and please excuse me for being such a noob.

    Thanks,
    Jordan.

They way i showed doesn't need to know where Word is installed.

Unpack the Word.rar to c:\ so, that the concersion files are in c:\Word\. Then run the provided commands in admin CMD to convert your Version to VL.

    Then check with:
    Code:
    cscript slmgr.vbs /dlv d9f5b1c6-5386-495a-88f9-9ad6b41ac9b3
    ...and post the output here.

Ive just tried to do that with Winzip and get this error:

    Extracting to "C:"
Use Path: yes Overlay Files: no
Error: A required privilege is not held by the client.
    Cannot create C:\wordvl_kms_client-ul-oob.xrm-ms
    Severe Error: File creation failed.

    Error code: 0
    Error description:

I was guessing it was due to not having authority to write to C:, though Ive been into properties and Under Security have given all 4 groups (Authenticated Users, SYSTEM, Administrators and Users) 'Full Control'.

How can I get past this or can I extract elsewhere?

    Thanks
    Jordan

    EDIT:

I have just created a new folder in Documents and unpacked the Word.rar into there to see what happens and it did without any issues. Not sure if this helps at all. The file (Word.rar) is unpacked into:

    C:>Users>patti1>Documents>A - Programs>Word Crack>Word Crack unpacked

Sometimes doing this on C:\ can be PITA. Is there anothere drive/partition we can use for some convenience?
