Hi BIOS-Expert, After an attempted hard drive upgrade, I cannot boot from CD/DVD anymore. I tried to address this issue in BIOS but cannot access it during boot by pressing F12. Windows 7 just keeps booting. I hear beeps when I press F12 later in the boot process. I currently no clue how to get the Acer Aspire 5536 back to booting from CD/DVD. Please help. In the Acer boot screen, it shows on the bottom left a Phoenix logo. Does that mean it's a Phoenix BIOS? I am complete newbie when it comes to BIOS so please be patient and give me clear and detailed instructions. Thanks.
you have to set the bios booting order- boot from cd first- hard drive second (make sure your system hard drive is the one your booting from if you have multi hard drives. hope that helps a little
Hi guys, F2 worked for me on the Acer Aspire 5536. I had to start pressing F2 before the laptop powered up. For some reason, the HDD was before CD/DVD in the boot order. I am sure this was not the case before I cloned because I used a bootable CD-ROM for the cloning itself. Anyway, it is sorted now. Thanks for your quick advice.
