I just upgraded to Windows 8.1 and I have installed all the updates provided by Microsoft but it seems like I cannot change my brightness in my laptop although it was working fine in Windows 8. I would appreciate if somebody could hrlp me to solve this problem:(.

Probably your video driver is broken. Try to update driver.

congratulations man, but try and add some info to your thread, such as what graphic cards you are running, what driver, what you did....that way it will benefit somebody else, otherwise it stays useless:D

I found out that I had forgotten to update the drivers for the Intel HD 4000 Graphics and the AMD Radeon HD 7600 Series. So, I updated them and then I could toggle the brightness on my laptops. So to anyone who is facing the same problem, just make sure to update your drivers and hopefully your problem will be solved :)
