I upgraded my Sony vaio vgn-fz180e from vista to windows 7 using a paid download from digital river. The download was for windows professional. When I upgraded I entered the product key and started to upgrade, but the upgrade stopped saying vista premium can't be upgraded to 7 professional. I removed the ei.cfg file and upgraded to 7 ultimate. Now windows 7 is warning me to activate but it doesn't accept the product key saying the key is for professional. I thought removing ei.cfg would allow you to use the product key on any version on the disc? Would appreciate any help getting my windows activated. Thanks.
lol..Same key for all 7 editions? What the f**k.. then they just might give away all editions for free.. and just sell ultimate. No one key = one edition.. key 2 = edition 2.. hard ?
