I haven't done this for XP in a while now and I can't figure out what's wrong. I have SLP 1.0 BIOS mod for HP. I've installed XP pro from the original HP sysem CD and entered OEM key during installation when the installer asked for it.

After all was done I have tried to activate via Internet, but it didn't work. It asked for a new key. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help?

If you correctly utilized the XP OEM preactivation mechanism u should be automatically activated, these OEM:SLP keys can NOT be used for online activation

If this is an HP system cd, then it should not ask for a key during installation on a machine with HP slp. Check your slp string with a tool like OEMBIOS tool.
