I download the following iso file> File Name: en_windows_8.1_with_update_x86_dvd_4065105.iso and made my USB bootable with program Rufus. when boot from USB after press any key to boot from USB on screen show me black screen appears with a logo in the middle of Windows 8. waiting 5 minutes and nothing happens. Does anyone know what the problem is?
Did you check the integrity of iso file? I mean its hash (SHA-1). If ok, then use another USB pendrives, some brands are not liked by Rufus.
Mmm, I've heard issues with Sandisk, some models. Well, lets think your pendrive isn't the problem then try Rufus it again, something could went wrong in the first attempt...
I like this idea - sometimes the 1st time doesn't work. Whenever possible I always d/l 2 of everything and keep several pendrives around.
It is just an .iso "burning" tool. I have used it for 7, 8, 8.1, 8.1 with update, and will probably use it for 9. iirc, it requires net 3.5 - not sure on this.
There's no need to double download as you hash it and compare whenever is possible, as for the latter is a good practice I always do as well.
but in first attempt made bootable usb with Rufus 1.4.5 and second attempt made bootable usb with Rufus 1.4.6... nothing change
Then try bchat recommended tools, if you still with issues then check your HDD and RAM, make a diagnostic.
Try to clean pendrive with diskpart, and than create partition again, format and use tool bchat recommended.
I have a kingston 16gb and this method made it work either in mbr and uefi 1. backup pen drive like always if you have any file you need 2. launch command prompt (Admin) and type diskpart 3. type list disk and you'll see yours by the disk size (14gb was my guess on 16gb kingston) yours should be about 7gb 4. type select disk (number on list disk of your pen drive on the previous step) 5. type the following commands in order to prepare it for boot clean (wipes pendrive, don't forget to backup first) create partition primary select partition 1 active (important to mark the disk as bootable format fs=fat32 quick assign (gives you a drive letter for the pen drive) 6. copy all the contents from iso to pen drive (I personally extract all the stuff with 7-zip from iso straight to pendrive 7. Test, if fails try downloading another iso from the repo here its painstakingly long but may work
Probably the real cause is a faulty USB stick. Just like when an 8 GB SanDisk Cruzer kept causing the Microsoft tool to keep saying that it cannot copy some files..... Rufus seems less picky, there's not dependency hell like Microsoft's own tool.....
