    Hello,

I want to add 2.1 slic into my bios that is 2.0 slic atm. But the bios provided on the internet for FSC is packed into isolinux so can't get it out. How do i correctly backup my bios so i can mod it?
Also i just wonder (won't stop me from modding) what happens if the bios update goes wrong ?

    ok, thanks
some questions (sorry for that), if something goes wrong and i have a bootblock for example. Can it be fixed without a floppy drive? cause i don't even have a connector for it.
can i just pick a any slic to add ? maybe any suggestions? (just use SSV2 to mod?)
so just need to add the adudos from the hdd.rar?

Thanks for all the help so far!!!!

Yes you need afudos and the mod.
The AMI recovery should work at USB pen or cd too. Therefore you have to copy your original bios named AMIBOOT.ROM onto it....or just use the original name P35_V302.ROM
I have added instructions above: use dynamic as the tool suggests (there is a FSC SLIC2.0 at F0 module already, press yes to confirm it.) and choose FSC slic2.1!!

Only if the mod shouldn't update the new slic try this command:
    afudos /IP35_V302.ROM /pbnc /n
THIS command affects the bootblock, the first (see post above) doesn't!

One question: Have you SLIC2.0 already? (Shown with slic dump toolkit, if yes..you can go for dynamic method)...

If no SLIC at all, then press cancel at andy's tool and choose ssv3 method and FSC SLIC2.1..and flash it with command 1 : afudos /IP35_V302.ROM

    ok, great, got it modded.
yes, it does have slic2.0 already
dono if it correct but used this for slic 2.1 Fujitsu[FUJ-PC-FUJ]2.1.BIN and left SLP blank and manufacture = other.
    link hxxp://sendspace.com/file/ic8njw
could you check it if it's ok ? or is there a way to see if it's correct ?

This is the one with your SLIC.
    hxxp://sendspace.com/file/gsukx8

So i just make a bootable usb drive like this: hxxp://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/8909-Make-A-bootable-USb-drive-For-Flashing-From-DOS?highlight=usb+bootable+dos
should i use the AFUDOS you extracted from the FSC update or the one on that page ?

    Thanks, Nick

As far I can see the mod is fine. I suggest always to use the flashtool that comes with the biosupdate.
Try command 1 (no additional switches) first, then check if the SLIC has been updated.

Remember: command 2 will flash the entire bios (bootblock as well)....

This is working perfectly, thanks for that!
Now i also want to do the same thing to my laptop but i can't get the bios extracted from the bios update file.
It consists of a exe file that packs a exe, a sys and a config file. Now i was able to extract the downloaded exe file into those 3 files. But i can't figure out how to extract the bios from the second exe.
Also i can't install the bios cause it won't run on x64 but only on x86. If i was able to install it i could backup the bios and mod it, the bios i have now is to old to do so.
    the downloadable exe: hxxp://sendspace.com/file/orx0i3
the extracted files from this exe: hxxp://sendspace.com/file/3fpl9w
The bios is a phoenix bios and it has a 2.0 slic from medion (MEDIONMEDIONAG). Could you tell me what slic to use? The only onei found was: MEDIONMEDIONAG1.0BAWRD.

You probably have to cut it (hexeditor), mod it and then to write it back....will have a look...to flash from 32 bit I suggest to use hiren boot cd...

Don't mind anymore yen. I got it working, i could just open the exe file with the phoenix tool and modded it with the slic i found. All working well, i did reinstall it with vista 32bit tho, none other os could flash it correctly.
Thanks for all this great help, got 2 legit windows 7 installs now. I wasn't allowed to use my laptop or desktop on college cause they didn't allow it non legit. But now i can :). They were forcing me into buying windows 7 (or a new laptop).

    Thanks again,
    V3n

So I would say it is legit. You've paid for Vista (alpha version of W7) and you have just upgraded to full version.. lol...

    Enjoy.
