Can't get FTP to work.

    I can't get access to FTP in. It lets me install Cuteftp on the server and use that but I have a dynamic ip address so I need to be able to get in from my home PC and I can't connect from the server to my home without a permanent ip address.

    This is on a server, I have others and they are fine. This one doesn't have a password set but the others do, could that be the problem or could it be my settings? I've added the FTP in the roles/servicing and checked the firewall isn't blocking it.

    or perhaps your ISP is blocking 20-21, 80-88 etc.

    are you able to connect to the FTP server with a machine on the same network? if not, you need to sort the settings on the server first. if yes, you need to look at external firewall rules.
