Hey everyone,, I just installed windows 8 activated and it was updating ,, and I wanted to enter safe mode so I entered "config" then I marked safe boot (minimal) in boot . After restarting , the windows tells me "system updated (100%) " and the monitor turns black for about 10 sec then it says restarting .. and this keeps going forever . I made a recovery disk and now I can acess Command Promot but I don't know how to unmark safe boot in msconfig via cmd .. help please , I don't want to format again ...
How about trying a system restore. That option is available via the repair disk. Or from the command prompt ' rstrui.exe '.
Reboot and do the opposite, run msconfig, uncheck safe mode and reboot... I had the same issue and just rebooted!
