I had dual OS . Windows 7 and Windows 8. I generally go to windows 8. Today morning, I thought lets visit windows 7 since it has been long time there. I choose windows 7 from dual OS menu and go there. but I find its de-activated. So I used windows loader to activate again. I worked on windows 7. when I reboot to go to windows 8 again, I find there is no Dual OS option. It is starting windows 7 directly. I open msconfig of windows 7 and under boot tab, there is no windows 8 !! only 7.... can u please tell me a way to get back that dual OS menu .... I dont want to reinstall windows 8 again !!
Boot from Recovery disc or Install disc of Windows 8. -Boot from repair disc > Chose Keyboard type > click Troubleshoot > click Advanced options > choose Command Prompt or -Boot from Install disc > Click Next > click Repair your computer > click Troubleshoot > click Advanced options > choose Command Prompt Type: Code: bootrec /fixmbr bootrec /fixboot bootrec /rebuildbcd Reboot.
or just run bcdboot.exe x:\windows ("x" is your drive letter of Win8) under win7 environment, that'll help bring your dual boot menu back.
not worked I tried with installation disk !! dos showed "successful" after every command. but reboot = direct to windows 7. windows 7 deactivated again !!
that one works..looks like...gonna reboot. I can see windows 8 in msconfig of win 7 !! YUP...WORKED..NOW IN WIN 8 THANKS TO YOU BOTH FOR HELPING ME
