Hi guys. Since updating to Windows 10 build 1903 (OS build 18362.113), my Windows 10 Enterprise keep failing at installing Cumulative Update with KB4505057 and KB4497935. Looking at the dism.log, it's error code 0x800f081f and saying the source file not found. I have tried all the methods I searched so far, reset Windows Update Component, delete Distribution and catroot2 folder, change gpedit setting, manual install with dism /add package command, run scanhealth, restore health, sfc scannow, nothing works. This is f**king frustrated. Does anybody know how to solve this s**t? I'm f**king tired of buggy and s**tty windows upgrade and don't wanna reinstall windows and do every setup and customization from scratch again. P/s: My user folder had been moved to D drive since I have an SSD and don't want to waste some TBs written for cache memory Windows produces.
You meant uninstalling Edge. I did uninstall windows defender, I guess I'll install Windows defender again and see how it goes.
Why uninstall defender if you can put it offline? Anyway defender works good with any other antivirus together without problems. With some antivirus programs it even shut down itself if needed. So there is no need to make your system cripple like this. As always; Don't fix it, if it ain't broken! Like you buy a new car, but never use the back-doors, so you screw them off.
My computer seems to hang a little bit updating from 18362.30 to 18362.116 but other then that nothing out of the ordinary although that's a lot of updates to catch up on so.
I have found that when removing or disabling some of the build in Windows Components (mainly edge and defender/firewall) using the various tweaking utils (and sometimes using official methods) Windows just simply starts to break and or fail to apply updates etc.. Just my .02 cents ~MC
My computer got update working normally to the build 18362.113 but then it just can't install any updates anymore.
UPDATED: Got the update working again after doing an in-place upgrade to version 18362.116 by using the official 1903 iso from media creation tool.
In saying that. I got given a new Surface Pro 6 today Lovely, black, and sleek, but that is where the dream ends. Need I go on?
