Did you happen to try installing the drivers in Windows 7, or 8 compatibility mode? Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't, but worth a try.
It happened with me that i installed windows 8 amd 8700 drivers in my cousin's laptop which was running on windows 8.1 so in result its display went away and i had to re install the windows again and all software as well and if u wanted to try something new make sure to create a complete system restore in order to prevent data lost and time loss as well
I30, Thankfully I have never had that happen - point well taken though - thanks. I keep at least 6 images of my drive so I am never more than 20 minutes away from a complete restore. Backup - backup - backup -
