can't paste anything into Windows 7 search

    I can't paste anything into the windows-7 "search" function, the one on the start menu, and the one in the top right-hand corner of Windows 7 Explorer, the paste function works everywhere else, the browser, address bar, google search etc, any help appreciated.

    I have the 64 bit version - paste works fine in both places.

    ETA - tried it in 32 bit install - works there too.

    CTRL+V (paste) works but mouse right-click doesn't so a minor annoyance really ... overall I'm really enjoying windows-7
