I'm trying to repair my os with 8.1 (murphy's release of september) but setup won't launch, I get this error in setuperr.log : Error CONX Failed to locate wim/esd file[gle=0x00000002] any help apreciated !
Sorry, it wasn't specific at all ! I am running 8.1 but had some updates that refuse to instal (can not instal updates, undoing changes...blabla), even downloading them from microsoft and installing them separately. To be precise : kb2971203 and the 2 recent ones kb2975719, kb2984006. I think my store or user may be broken (my user fail to log with UAC enabled and clic on pc settings does nothing) and that I could maybe repair it with the new september release from within windows 8 (since its not possible to do it from a usb key). I don't want to lose my programs doing a refresh or fresh install. So, here comes the question... when I mount the iso or open the usb key, and run setup, it won't launch, and I have this file, setuperr.log (created under $WINDOWS.~BT folder on C drive) with the line Error CONX Failed to locate wim/esd file[gle=0x00000002] I can run setup from sources but no point as it bypasses the verification and wouldn't be able to upgrade/repair like this. thanks for your time !
