I have a genuine cd key of vista . I use this many time with my old PC and I bought a new PC I can't use that key . I'm sure that I have uninstalled window vista in my old PC
I stand corrected. Here is an excerpt of the Vista EULA Code: 15. REASSIGN TO ANOTHER DEVICE. a. Software Other than Windows Anytime Upgrade. You may uninstall the software and install it on another device for your use. You may not do so to share this license between devices. In addition, it appears you are also allowed to make a one time transfer to a third party. Code: 16. TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY. a. Software Other Than Windows Anytime Upgrade. The first user of the software may make a one time transfer of the software, and this agreement, directly to a third party. The first user must uninstall the software before transferring it separately from the device. The first user may not retain any copies. WOW, this was news to me. Thanks FixedBit.
the key is registered on microsoft servers with your old hardware. to unlock it, u have to follow the vista instructions to activate by phone. vista will give you a key that u'll have to use with the automatic phone service activation. after u'll enter the key with your phone, they'll give u a key to unlock your licence and your vista will be activated again.
