Strangely I got Error: 5 Access Denied. I just need to run it in normal mode, right? Any suggestions please. Thanks. Edit: or under PE environment?
I am only guessing, Are you sure you are using C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.1\Assessment and Deployment Kit\Deployment Tools> Do Not Use ! C:\Windows\system32>dism
Try running as admin or under admin prompt If you are trying to capture the same system you are running, try running the dism command from a boot disc. Press shift-f10 on your windows dvd setup
Yah probably, or you could simply mount the desired wim index and copy the 2 files over and do a /set-productkey It would only work on your hardware though...
I don't know what you want! But one thing I surely know is... Windows Blue's Dism is difference from Windows 8's. Dism of Windows 8 could not perform some task to Windows Blue such as apply offlineServicing to Windows Blue Image. To use Windows Blue's Dism in other Windows NT6 (Windows Vista/7/8) you have to have Windows 8.1 Setup DVD and presume that it is drive Z: 1. Make two new folders name "1" and "2". 2. Mount Index Number 2 in "BOOT.WIM" to folder "1" . 2. Copy all "DISM" contents except "en-US" from "Windows\System32\Dism" folder in folder "1" to folder "2". 3. Copy all "DOWNLEVEL" contents from "Windows\System32\downlevel" folder in folder "1" to folder "2". 4. Copy these files from "Z:\sources" folder to folder "2" and overwrite every file it ask to or you cannot run this new dism.exe. 4.1 dism.exe 4.2 dismapi.dll 4.3 dismcore.dll 4.4 dismcoreps.dll 4.5 dismprov.dll These are all files which new dism.exe in Windows Blue needs to run onto other version of Windows NT6. So now you can run Windows 8.1's Dism from within folder "2" or copy and overwrite file in you Windows NT6. This is to run my "NT6xSetupUtility" in any version of Windows NT6. Hope this help.
I hope that WAIK is for Windows PE 5.0 as it run in Windows 8.1 and contain all request files to run DISM in any version of Windows NT6 even in Vista...Thank you very much.
